CHEMICALOGIC CORPORATION ANNOUNCES THE RELEASE OF CO2TAB SPREADSHEET ADD-IN SOFTWARE FOR CARBON DIOXIDE PHYSICAL PROPERTIES

Woburn, Massachusetts, U.S.A. -- November 12, 1999 -- ChemicaLogic Corporation today announced the release of CO₂Tab V1.0, a spreadsheet add-in software covering the physical properties of carbon dioxide (CO₂). CO₂Tab is the newest of a series following on the earlier releases of spreadsheet add-in software SteamTab and MositAirTab for thermodynamic properties for water and steam and moist air.

CO₂Tab V1.0 allows the users to conveniently access from a spreadsheet a comprehensive set of 42 accurate carbon dioxide properties. These properties are calculated from some of the most authoritative and accurate CO₂ equations of state, transport properties correlation and CO₂-H₂0 binary vapor/liquid equilibrium (VLE) data for obtaining the solubility of carbon dioxide in water. CO₂Tab enables users to automate their desktop computation involving carbon dioxide properties without ever again having to stop to look up properties.

With CO₂Tab , the spreadsheet calculation is automatically updated for new values of carbon dioxide stream conditions by means of the cell reference technique. Calculations to search for the end conditions of isentropic, isenthalpic and constant-volume processes are also performed automatically with built-in iterative algorithms.

CO₂Tab is an important productivity tool for those who are engaged in the ever-widening field of carbon dioxide applications, for example: closed-loop refrigeration, frozen food processing, food preservation and storage, beverage carbonation, brewery operations, supercritical fluid extraction, precision cleaning with carbon dioxide, pipeline engineering, secondary oil recovery, slurry transport, inerting bulk storage tanks, natural gas processing, CO₂ scrubbing, or research activities for effective CO₂ sequestration methods to control the green-house gases.
